Wristwatches from NOMOS Glashütte have always been the perfect blend of German craftsmanship and simple, unassuming elegance. In keeping with the tenets of Bauhaus, “form follows function” is the motto of this design approach. Based on the newest models from Baselworld 2019, NOMOS is still holding true to this philosophy.
In a year when the Bauhaus will be celebrating its centenary, NOMOS is exploring its sporty side, introducing the Club Sport and Tangente Sport at the 2019 edition of this famous Swiss watch trade show. The basis for both models is the in-house caliber DUW 6101. Its robust and space-saving construction is suitable not only for daily wear but also for sports models. Both watches are water resistant to 1,000 ft (approx. 300 m) and come equipped with sapphire crystal and extra-long luminescent hands and dial details.

Tangente Sport
As its name suggests, this model is based on the Tangente – a classic among NOMOS watches. Accordingly, its design has many parallels to the standard model. However, one major deviation is the new bracelet consisting of 145 individual parts. The Tangente Sport is available with either a white or a marine black dial. The latter is accented by light blue hour indices reminiscent of crystal clear ocean waters.

New Editions for Four Familiar Faces
The other Baselworld announcements from NOMOS may be less flashy but are still worth mentioning. They introduced a new model to each of four existing collections: the Orion, Tangente, Tetra, and Ludwig. Each has been reimagined as a time-only, two-hand timepiece called “duo” – pure and simple. With their 33 mm diameter (Tetra side length: 27 mm), they’re ideal even for more delicate wrists. The silver-colored case contrasts beautifully with the golden hands, and the reliable and precise in-house caliber Alpha.2 ticks away inside these models.
